The Genesis 350SE loudspeakers are born of the same technology as exemplified by our world famous Genesis I loudspeaker system. Incorporating planar ribbon drivers for both the tweeter and the midrange, and amplified servo controlled metal cone woofers for the low frequencies, the Genesis 350SE is a direct beneficiary of Genesis I technology.

The midrange and tweeter sections are dipolar, meaning that the sound radiates from the front and the back in a "push-pull" fashion. Dipoles achieve their superior performance because they create a radiation pattern where the energy emanating to the sides of the speakers is nearly non-existent. With very little acoustical energy reaching the side walls of your living room, not only is placement of the speakers easy but, remarkably, the listener is able to experience the music unencumbered by the normal room interactions which plague most other speaker systems.
The servo woofers produce sound in a bipolar pattern, meaning that the sound radiates from both front and back in a circular manner. This design (which displaces the woofers in space) allows for a more uniform bass response by exciting many different modes in the room rather than just one. This unique incorporation of the two technologies permits the Genesis 350SE to take advantage of the strengths of each.
The Genesis 350SE consists of two major modules two midrange tweeter screens each containing a 4 foot midrange driver and three 1 inch ribbon tweeters in front with 1 ribbon tweeter in the rear, and an attached bass enclosure containing 4 eight inch metal cone servo woofers. The woofer system is powered by a 1500 watt, discrete, remote controlled servo power amplifier. Our highly advanced remote allows adjustments to amplitude, phase response, high pass and low pass filters.
With a total of 8 eight inch metal cone woofers, powered by a 1500 watt remote control amplifier, the bass performance of the 350 is simply astounding. Servo control of the woofers is the key factor in their performance. In traditional woofer systems, "heavy," "soggy," or "boomy" bass is present to some degree because the heavy mass of each woofer is not controlled. In a servo bass system, complete control of the woofers is made possible by the addition of a motion sensor (an accelerometer) mounted directly on the woofer itself. Lower distortion, greater low frequency extension and tight control yield musical yet "floor shaking" bass.
Another benefit of the 350's self-amplified woofer system is that almost any sized power amplifier may be used to drive the midrange tweeter panels. No longer must one choose between having enough power to adequately drive the woofers and yet maintain the spatial qualities found in many small power amps. At four Ohms nominal impedance, the 350s can be driven with an amplifier as small as 70 watts per channel and can safely be used with amplifiers as powerful as 1000 watts per channel.
The unique amalgamation of ribbon driver technology, dipole/bipole response and the remote controlled amplified servo woofer system all combine to create a truly full range three dimensional musical experience. We encourage you to visit your Genesis Technologies dealer for an audition.
